Another healthy dose of Samsung Galaxy S III Information, 1080p HD Screen and 4G LTE Support

The last couple of days have been fairly healthy with new devices from HTC, Samsung and even LG. While HTC hit it pretty big with the One X, the U.S. version slated for AT&T is a somewhat of a disappointment. Don’t even get me started on the HTC One S for T-Mobile. Samsung never officially did anything at MWC, but we still got a look at what is new from them. They showed of the Galaxy Note 10.1, the Galaxy Tab 10.1 2, and the Galaxy Beam. While those were pretty cool, especially the Beam, the one device that we all are waiting to see is the Galaxy S III. We caught wind from a BGR inside source about the device being delayed for announcement to allow for a simultaneous global launch. The source also was said to confirm a ceramic battery door and a 4.8-inch screen. While those three details are just enough to entice, we all want more. WEll, they say they have managed to squeeze a few more details out of the source. Here is what is ‘supposedly’ confirmed.

  • 1.5GHz quad-core Samsung Exynos processor
  • 4.8-inch “full HD” 1080p resolution with 16:9 aspect ratio display
  • A 2-megapixel front-facing camera and an 8-megapixel rear camera
  • Ceramic case
  • 4G LTE
  • Android 4.0

Much of this was already speculated, but if the source is indeed a valid one, then these specs are an amazing. It would continue to put Samsung at the top of the manufacturer game and force the competition to really step up their game. Lets face it, if Samsung can bring the first quad-core 4G LTE enabled device to the states, HTC is toast.

We will keep or eyes and ears peeled for more information that appear credible. We are still going to stay skeptical of the newest information until we hear it directly from Samsung. Still though, the more information that emerges sure does make everything else seem like an OG RAZR to me.
