After spending just a month in the beta stage, Apex Launcher 2.2 has exited the prototype stage is now available for all on the Google Play Store. This update is designed to bring Apex Launcher in line with Android 4.4 KitKat and its competitor custom launchers to take advantage of all the new goodies that KitKat has introduced. The full list of improvements, as seen on its Play Store page, include:
- Kitkat scroll indicator (homescreen & drawer)
- Kitkat quick search bar style
- Kitkat folder style
- Transparent status bar option (Kitkat)
- Icon font option (Android 4.1+)
- More Kitkat visual tweaks
- Fixed icon/shortcut disappearing
- Other bugfixes
- Updated translations
While you will need KitKat to use some of the cooler things like transparent notification bars, there’s still a lot for you to enjoy like icon fonts customization and the like. As always, Apex is a free app to download with a $4 upgrade fee should you choose to accept; Play Store links are below for your convenience.
