If you have ever picked up a guitar and attempted to play it or learn it then you know what tablature is. It is the easy method for learning songs by your favorite artists. Anyone that can read and count can use tablature to learn to play cover songs. This of course isn’t the best method to truly learn how to play the guitar though, but it does give you an understanding of music. Freebird Media media has an application in the market called Guitar TabApp Pro that can help you along the way via your Android device –
What it does:
– Searches for guitar tabs online
– Search for guitar tabs by band
– Views retrieved guitar tabs
– Saves online tabs to phone
– Filters saved tabs by band
– Adds / Edits your own guitar tabs with copy/paste
– Pinchs and zooms tab view
– Phone stays awake in tab view so that it doesn’t sleep when viewing and playing
– You can also copy tab files from your pc to sd cardWhat it doesn’t do:
– Does not Guarantee accurate tabs
(tabs are retrieved from an online archive)
– Does not Have ratings or starts for tabs
(The online archive does not have this functionality)
Any guitarist knows that a lot of work goes into creating a tab, and they may not always be 100% accurate. That has still never stopped us from using them to learn our favorite songs. The added benefit of the app saving all your tabs to your device for offline viewing. Looks like it might be time to break out the Ibanez and get back to what I love, next to Android of course.
