To call your game impossible right in the title is quite a boast but when it comes to difficulty The Impossible Game doesn’t mess around. Practically everything in the game kills you: Touching a spike, touching the side of a block or touching the ground where you shouldn’t. These may not sound like many ways to fail, but those three objects are literally all the game will throw at you. The lack of variety doesn’t hurt the game as much as you’d think, even with only two levels The Impossible Game is one of the most addictive autoscrolling platformers that I have played. This addictiveness largely thanks to how quickly you are put back into the action, should you die you jump straight back to the beginning of the level or to your last flag with little pause.
The controls are  simple: tap the screen to jump, or you can drop a flag giving you a checkpoint, which puts you in practice mode and is scored separately from the main mode. Practice is invaluable as it’s not just the quick pace that will kill you but also the devious design of the two levels, tricking you to jump when you should fall and mixing up pasterns frequently.
While the game is visually bland it isn’t unattractive, the music however is fantastic. Practice mode has a slow paced tune that works fine but if you try playing without dropping any flags you are treated to a great piece of techno that beats along to the pace of the game and makes you want to progress further just to hear more of the tune.
The Impossible Game definitely isn’t for everyone, but if you’re into autoscrolling platformers and aren’t easily discouraged then this is a great game to spend a dollar on.
