AppBrain keeps getting smarter, plans to join Mensa

Ok, so maybe that second part isn’t entirely true.  For a product that has only been around since February, you can’t deny they have made huge strides forward.

If you aren’t familiar with AppBrain, it’s an online Android Market with a twist.  In addition to providing search and browse functionality on a PC, users of Android phones can download the apps they choose by simply clicking an install button on the site. Appbrain then stores the application in an application wish list and a companion android app lets the user efficiently make all the desired changes on the phone, including removal of applications.  Not content to rest with just being good, AppBrain has been working non-stop to make application shopping a better experience.  They’ve recently updated their app with a new look to go with some brand spanking new features:

  • Discover which apps were hot in the last 24 hours and in the last 7 days
  • Browse apps which were last viewed by other users on AppBrain.com
  • Browse the app categories, filtered by free apps, paid apps, popular updated apps, popular new apps, apps with price drops, and latest apps
  • Find apps with the fast and relevant search, which also show description snippets matching your search terms
  • Get notified about updates of your installed apps

Their online market also has new features, including searching with version filters.  If you want to give AppBrain a try, head over to their site. Sign-up is as easy as using your Google account password.
