As I guessed Samsung CEO says ‘never’ to WebOS

Samsung CEO Choi Gee Sung  states  that his company will ‘never’ make a move on WebOS to the press while attending the IFA consumer electronics fair, in Berlin today. He went on record further by adding “It’s not right that acquiring an operating system is becoming a fashion,”. Let’s not to forget that Samsung already pushes its own Mobile OS, BADA, in the Asian markets.

This just goes to show that you can’t always put too much faith in the opinions of industry insiders and experts. Speculation is by no means a science.

So where does this leave WebOS? Well to tell you the truth your guess is just about as good as anyone else’s at this point. I think its fair to assume that HP’s recent comments about a commitment to continued support for their OS, which is already treading water, might be nothing more than a fabrication to mitigate the repercussions of a poorly executed change in the company’s future endeavors.

As I stated earlier when I brought this rumor to you and dismissed it, I would love to see Google step in and bring some of the core programming, UI and aesthetics of WebOS into the Android fold. In fact now that I think about it, it might make for a nice addition to Chrome OS as well.
