We were pretty quick to let you all know that the new
ASUS Transformer Pad Infinity tablet was up for sale at Amazon. After checking on it a few days later, we saw quite a few of you get an order in. According to some reports in the AndroidCentral forums, it appears that a software update is currently underway to those devices. Moving you up to software version 9.4.5.26. While we haven’t seen any official changelog announced just yet, we are hearing the usual stability improvements and bug fixes talk going on. Along with added support for 64GB memory cards. Also, the camera and touchscreen firmware are getting a little boost in their build version.
We know this update is really out there in the wild though. After checking around various locations many owners are reporting the update has hit their Infinity. On ASUS’s support site they haven’t updated the changelog to reflect it yet, but they do have the kernel source for it available to download. Click the image below to head to their page and get your hands on the kernel if you feel so inclined.
If you have owned a Transformer in the past then you already know how to go about checking for the update. For those of you new to the Transformer line, head toÂ
Settings > About tablet > Software updates, and hit the little button.

If you have been holding off on snagging one, now is a good time to get an order placed. Especially since ASUS already confirmed Jelly Bean is on the way.
