ASUS went and did it. Meet the Transformer AiO, 18.4-inches of dual booting Windows and Android Goodness
We all saw the teaser commercial that ASUS put on YouTube for Computex. It showed a single water droplet that split into to two showing both a Windows 8 logo and and Android logo. We thought it was pretty safe to assume that ASUS was planning to unveil a dual-booting tablet of some sorts that would fully run both OS’s. Everyone who thought that would be correct, sort of.
Meet the ASUS Transformer AiO all-in-one PC. It is an 18.4-inch all-in-one touchscreen PC. It is capable of booting into Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich, and also Windows 8. It sits nicely on a stand, but is detachable to be used as a tablet on the Android side of things.
While we like the idea a lot, we are fairly concerned on how it will appeal to the masses. An 18.4-inch Android tablet is pretty ridiculously huge, but it has a lot of potential for the truly geeky. What do you guys think? Is this next on your shopping list? Maybe start saving now for a Christmas present if it launches by then? We aren’t entirely sold on it yet. We were expecting something more along the lines of a 10.1-inch dual-booting device with the same look and functionality as the Prime. It will be interesting to see what happens with the Transformer AiO in the near future.
