The current update being pushed out by Motorola for their Atrix 4G offers a lot of minor fixes as well as enhancements to battery life and stability overall. However the two biggest complaints regarding the device have yet to be addressed. Motorola’s knows about the voice quality issues and as far as the HSUPA, they just won’t turn it on although HTC now has permission to fire up the Inspire 4G. Of course some fixes are better than none.
- Bluetooth: Improved multimedia experience with Bluetooth devices as well as the ability to use phone with additional headsets
- Fingerprint reader: Improved fingerprint reader performance
- Battery: Improved battery performance for longer battery life
- Screen: Display will turn off automatically now while charging directly on wall charger
- Phone stability: Improved stability resulting in fewer occurrences of touch unresponsiveness and/or programs quitting unexpectedly.
- Car dock: Improved performance of car dock and 3.5mm jack
Instructions to download this update or initiate the download process can be found at Motorola’s site. No official announcement on when the other fixes will be available. With HTC getting the “OK” to enable HSUPA on the Inspire 4G there’s no reason why Motorola can’t do the same. As far as voice quality, call Motorola and voice your complaints. =P
