March 1st is 6 days away. One could technically argue 5 days with the time difference over there compared to the states. Regardless of how you choose to do the math, the fact is that on March 1st Samsung will be making the Galaxy S6 known. Late last night we saw a promo image from T-Mobile that gave one of the clearest looks at the device I have seen so far. It shows the side of the device, its metal housing and the curved edge on one side. Being a T-Mobile image it emitted a magenta glow that makes it pop. AT&T is pushing the same image around to get people hyped for the device on their network, but they glow was given the trademark blue of the wireless carrier. It still carries the same marketing branding of “Six Appeal”
AT&T offers up Spring of 2015 on their image though. Spring officially starts March 20th. Whether or not the device will find its way to customers on that date is a different story and one we won’t likely know until the device is made official.
I am more than a little curious as to how this will all play out. Rumors and talks have suggested that there will be two devices, the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge. The Edge we expect to be more like the Note Edge with the side panel screen with quick access to apps and additional notification functionality. It was also surmised that the Galaxy S6 Edge would carry a dual edge to it with one on each side. While the image above is certainly a sleek and sexy looking piece of hardware, I can’t quite decide if this is the Edge or the standard model. Either way, you can rest assured it keeps the oval home button in tact and it would suggest the power button sits rather low.
We should see the same image make its rounds with red and yellow glows for Verizon and Sprint rather soon as well.
What are your thoughts on the whole thing?
