AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II MIUI Ice Cream Sandwich ROM now Available

No need to pinch yourself. You’re not dreaming, and this is no cruel joke either. If you have a rooted AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II, your wait for Ice Cream Sandwich is over. shep211, from XDA, posted an almost fully functional MIUI Android 4.0 ROM that’s ready to be flashed on your device.

This MIUI ROM was created using the merged ICS framework from GalnetMIUI 1.11.2 and a dash of CM7. It’s still a development build, so be ready to notice a few bugs here and there, but it’s working fairly well from what we’ve been told. Another thing you’ll want to keep in mind before flashing this ROM is that there are no ICS UI elements. You’re going to see an MIUI-styled user interface, so don’t be disappointed when it looks totally different from what you’re expecting. This should, however, give you a good idea of what Ice Cream Sandwich is going to look like after OEM’s paint their own custom UI’s on top of the latest version of the Android platform. Sense Cream Sandwich, anyone?

If you’re feeling frisky and would like to give this ROM a spin, head on over to the original thread on XDA. Make sure to make backups, and remember — if you brick your phone, nobody is responsible but you. If you can read simple directions, you’ll be just fine.
