AT&T Samsung Galaxy S III devices get their Jelly Bean on via Kies

We poked a little fun at AT&T and Verizon today when we saw that the Samsung Galaxy S III in Canada was getting Jelly Bean updates today. Looks like AT&T wasn’t to far behind them after all. Now all you wonderful AT&T subscribers sporting a Samsung Galaxy S III can get your does of Jelly Bean loaded to your device. Assuming you are still stock and not rooted already of course. The update gets your device up to Android 4.1.1. The same as Sprint and T-Mobile. Looks like the update is weighing in at 738MB’s and is currently available vie Samsung Kies. Anyone that has owned a Samsung device and has used Kies in the past knows it can be a bit finicky at times. Not sure if a full OTA will be released or if Kies will be your only option.

If you don’t have Samsung Kies installed, then be sure to head over to Samsung to get it up and running. It is a bit of a lengthy install, but if you want Jelly bean now, it is a must. If you already have Kies installed, be sure it is up to date with the latest version. Others seem to be having issues with it failing after it downloads the huge file needed. A little troubleshooting through the app its self re-installed the drivers and it worked just fine. You can check out that information at the Samsung Galaxy S III AT&T Forums.

With this news, all eyes are on Verizon. Being the largest carrier in the U.S., it sure seems odd that they are last to the update party. Here is to hoping you guys see some Jelly bean love soon.
