Although Froyo and Gingerbread builds are available for the few Xperia x10 users out there willing to dig in and open up their devices, an official update for the AT&T variant’s stock software has been missing for sometime. Although some phones are already receiving a bit of Gingerbread loving from manufacturers and carriers, others are still waiting for their first official Froyo releases. AT&T Sony Xperia x10 users that haven’t sought out the development community for updates have been stuck running 1.6.
Although the road may have been long Sony and AT&T have finally released an Android 2.1 Eclair update for this phone. Downloading and installing this update is as simple as visiting Sony Ericsson’s site, which will walk you through the entire process via on-screen prompts.
