Beats ear buds to be pulled from HTC devices going Forward

When HTC bought controlling share in Beats Audio I got rather excited. The technology is great, as long as you have a great set of headphones to pair up with them. In the beginning a set of Beats earbuds were made available in the HTC devices box sporting the Beats branding. That is no longer going to be the case. We now know that T-Mobiles upcoming HTC One S device will not include a set of ear buds in the box. This is sad news to some. Seems this will be the norm going forward with HTC and Beats.

“An accessory like the headphone doesn’t factor in when someone is buying a smartphone,” Martin Fichter, an HTC product executive, told CNET. “If they want a Beats headphone, they’ll buy it directly.”

The Beats Audio branding was supposed to be a selling point on HTC devices going forward. While the software will still be available in the Beats branded devices, earbuds will have to be purchased separately in order to enjoy it.

We wonder, how do you feel about this? Was the potential inclusion of a set of Beats earbuds a deciding factor for you to pick up a new HTC device? Are you more focused on what the device does and looks like than the sound quality from your in-box earbuds?
