BRAVEN has announced the availability of their new external battery bank, the BRV-BANK. We first caught a small look at it at CES 2014 when checked out some of their new speaker offerings for the year. The BRV-BANK takes on the same look and feel of their other water-resistant BRV line of outdoor speakers, the BRV-X and BRV-1.
The BRV-BANK features dual-port USB out charging that is controlled via a
companion app that you install you device. It connects to the battery bank through Bluetooth. From the app you can see the exact remaining battery of the 6,000 mAh (although it was 8,000 mAh at CES, hopefully there will be a second) BRV-BANK, along with turn the ports on or off, activate a variety of other features like S.O.S. and Bear Mode. Â Yes, I said Bear Mode. The BRV-BANK is more than just another battery bank to charge your device. It comes with a rugged USB cable, a lanyard and a USB tipped flastlight.
The Bear Mode activates your smartphone’s motion sensor, sending signals to the bank to sound an alarm and activate the connected USB flashlight when your phone is moved.
The flashlight is a nice addition and does come in the box with your purchase. When it is connected you can activate S.O.S. mode and the flashlight will pulse out morse code for you.
