Buddy Rush launches cross platform RPG to Android

The greatest hurdle with gaming on a mobile device is the ability to game with others. There are a handful of games available that allow you to play against or with your friend, but not a lot. Some of them will only work via WiFi when connected to the same network, others are limited to Android friends only. Nothing is more frustrating to me then only being able to play a certain game if a friend has a certain device. That is the same reason I still don’t own an XBOX 360 or PS3. It would create issues in my house as well as separation with my friends.

Now we have another player in the cross-platform gaming community with a game I think you might like. it is an RPG (Role Playing Game) and is sure to keep you busy and social for hours. Company100 Inc. just launched their game called Buddy Rush just today. It crossed between Facebook, iOS and Android. Allowing you to play with pretty much everyone you know that might be into the same type of gaming experience.

The graphics look rather pleasant with a cartoony theme motif. You have the chose between 15 various characters with various ‘classes’ that you can outfit with clothing, armor, items and weapons. You can connect up with your friends and create a group to head off into battle to accomplish missions and objectives. Doing so will help your friends earn points towards leveling up and hopefully they will return the favor, one day.  The game features 10 chapters and 92 missions to keep you busy for hours. To make it even more appealing to those of you that might be die-hard RPG fans, the game also includes over 2000 items you can collect, earn or buy from the store. All this gives you very a personal experience in giving your ‘Buddy’ the look and skills you desire.

On the plus side. The game is synced through all the various platforms available. Giving you access to where you left off from your PC, tablet or phone at any time. The controls of the game seem to be simple enough, tap the screen to where you want to go. I haven’t taken a look at the game myself, so I am not sure how the PC controls are set up.

From what I have read from the market description and from their website, I can only find two things that I hope is either written incorrectly or they change at some point. The first issue I have is with the connecting with friends aspect of the game. All though the game allows you to create a group of friends to help you out in missions, your friend still isn’t the one controlling the character, the computer is. It is still your friends ‘Buddy’ and by bringing them with you, you are helping them earn points. I would have liked to see an invitation to tag along and control my character myself and work with my friend. The second issue I have  is that you MUST have a Facebook account to play the game. It isn’t that big of a deal since most of still have Facebook accounts for various reasons. I just prefer to not have another application or game synced to it.

The game does require Android 2.2+ and has been tested to function perfectly on Google Nexus One, Google Nexus S, Samsung Galaxy S, Samsung Galaxy S II, HTC Desire, HTC Desire HD, HTC Desire Z and HTC Droid Incredible. That doesn’t mean it doesn’t work on other devices. Give it a go and let us know how it worked for you and your device.

If this game might be your style, you can pick it up below for your Android device. You can also head on over to Facebook to snag it for your account or download it via  iTunes App Store.
