You might remember that a few weeks ago, we got an exclusive look at a new game called Captain! that was being made by our good friends, the Butterscotch Shenanigans. Unfortunately, the winds of U’Hok weren’t blowing in the right direction and Butterscotch have decided to stop work on Captain!. The primary quoted reason, which you can also read on their blog here, was that development was moving too slowly, and for Butterscotch who are at their best in game jam type situations, the slow moving development of Captain! wasn’t a good fit.
Instead, Butterscotch Shenanigans are hosting the Butterscotch Jam from the 19th to 23rd of August, where a new game will be created every day in only 8 hours. Think that’s ridiculous? Perhaps you should join in the fun. Butterscotch is hoping (and I’m sure all of us are too) that this game jam will produce an idea for their next game. Whatever it is, it’s sure to be absurd and awesome.
I’ve been told that streaming of the game jam will hopefully be up soon, so stay tuned if you are eager to join in or just want to watch quietly in your dark room. Going to take part in the game jam? Let us know!
