Can the Motorola DROID 4 be charged Wirelessly? Yes it Can!

Heya Android fans! Do you have your eye on the Motorola DROID 4 (aka the RAZR with a slide-out keyboard)? Well, our good friends from Droid-Life have pointed out that, since the DROID 4′s back cover can be removed in order to provide access to SIM card and microSD slots, Motorola generously decided to add inductive charging into the mix, meaning you’ll be able to charge your phone without ever having to connect it to a cable. Of course, nothing in life is free — you’ll need to spend about $100 to make this dream a reality. The wireless charging cover itself can already be purchase from Verizon for $39.99. The battery cover contain the technology you need to wirelessly charge your Droid 4 with a wireless charging pad, which is sold separately for  $49.99.

On a side note, we had the chance to stop by the Duracell PowerMat booth at CES last month and were told that wireless charging mats would soon be popping up all over the place. For example, in April of this year, Madison Square Garden plans to install power mats in every single seat in the house. This means, you can go catch a game, keep your phone charged while your there, and laugh your butt off as Jeremy Lin keeps making the rest of the Knicks look like chumps. But seriously, the possibility of wireless charging becoming available in more and more public places is one that sounds delightful. Wouldn’t you agree?

If you’d like to pick up the gear you need to charge your DROID 4, I’ve added a couple links below that will take you where you need to be. Ciao!
