Carrier IQ is NOT on Verizon devices, so they Say

The whole Carrier IQ stuff has certainly been a rather interesting thing to follow. It is an app that is, technically, secretly installed on literally hundreds of thousands of devices. It tracks your usage and records various things in your device. The Information is supposed to be for marketing and product performance tracking. Still, it is unsettling to see everything I do on my device headed to a server somewhere that can be accessed by people. Even if it is ‘Anonymous’ and secure.

According to a tweet from a Verizon rep, Carrier IQ is not on Verizon Wireless devices. He is %100 positive of this statement. Now the real question is, can he be proved wrong? I would hate to see it appear on a Verizon device, but I would ultimately like to see someone show them that it really is there. Does anyone know if it is ? I’ll personally send them a screen shot to get their blood boiling. The other option that runs through ones mind is that CIQ might not be installed or used by Verizon, but you can bet they have something in their devices that does something similar.
