Cartoon Wars: Gunner+ by Gamevil takes stick figures to the Battle

I am a sucker for stick figures. I am not sure exactly why, but I will trade in the most detailed high-end game on the market for an awesome stick figure game that plays well. Heck, it could suck and I’d still play it. Historically stick figures have always been the brunt of all things violent. As kids we grow up playing hang man, that spurs us to start drawing stick dogs and cats, bloody fights and crazy flip books. You imagination can run wild with stories that are easy to create and fun to show off.

Thankfully there are some great developers out there that think there is still a market for stick figures. Gamevil, the guys behind the widely popular Zenonia series of RPG games, just launched another game to the market for us to all enjoy. Cartoon Wars: Gunnar+ is a side scrolling action shooter with some RPG elements mixed in for good measure.

You take control of Captain J, the only threat to the kings plans. During the cartoon war that is raging on in the cartoon world. The king sends troops after Captain J and forces him into the mountains. Injured and furious, he makes his way back to end the kings reign of tyranny.

There are a total of 11 weapons for you to choose from and master as your fight rages on. Before each battle sequence you have the chance to spend your earned gold on new weapons and upgrades to your hero’s abilities.

The controls are easy to use. On the left is your joystick for moving around the screen. On the right you will find your special ability button and I believe a reload button. This is also where you will find your shoot button. Instead of a standard button, it is more of a joystick style button. Hold it to the left to shoot to the left and hold it to the right to shoot right. This makes running and gunning pretty easy.

There are in game purchases available to help you gain more gold so you can upgrade and purchase new weapons much faster than if you didn’t. I am fairly certain you should have no issue getting through the game with out the need for them. But some of the high end weapons that should do a lot of damage and be extremely fun to play with are rather spendy on the gold.

If you are anything like me, or are just looking for a great shooter that is fun and addicting, you should definitely check this one out.
