Spring is close at hand and means summer isn’t too far off either. For me that means sunshine, lakes, rivers, camping, fishing and hiking. While I like to disconnect, a plethora of devices generally make it into the bag when I head out to enjoy some sunshine. A portable solar panel is something I will always want to have handy in my tech lineup. Not just for emergency reasons, but also for convenience. CHOETECHÂ will be announcing a new portable solar panel shortly that has me intrigued to say the least.
The new CHOETECHÂ Foldable Solar Panel will measure in at 30.5x17x2.5cm when folded up for travel and expands to a full 62.5×30.5×0.5cm. Weight wise you are looking at 800g (1.76 pounds) Â When you open it up you find 3 high-efficiency mono-crystaline panels that are PET laminated which provide 5v/3400mA output power when in perfect sunlight conditions.
Beyond its size and power, the CHOETECHÂ solar charger carries one other unique feature I haven’t run across personally. Built into its dual USB ports they have added the auto-detect, or smart charging technology, which will push the best possible charge to what ever device you connect to it without worry of damaging your device.
I am pretty excited about the launch and the potential it has to bring my Note 4 and tablets up to power quickly without the need for non-renewable power bank. They list it with as being 24% efficient, which quite a bit more than the 15 – 18% efficiency rates that I have seem in competitor models. CHOETECHÂ is expected to launch the solar charger on February 23rd with a very affordable price tag of $70.00 here in the states.
