CM7.1 Moves From Nightlies to RC1 for T-Mobile Vibrant

For all of you who have been waiting for CM7.1 on our Vibrants to finally be moved to RC status, the wait is finally over. Just a little while ago via XDA and CyanogenMOD forums the first RC was released. Hooray for us!

With all great news comes some less then exciting news. If you have been using the nightlies or have been following along with the thread for them, then you know the issues that still plague us. Even though we are now officially on RC1 people are still reporting the mute/unmute bug along with battery drain of 30/40% every 3 to 4 hours in idle state. They also still haven’t managed to get the GPS working yet either. With all great projects and with a great set of developers behind this ROM, we should start to see these issues slowly getting resolved as the RC status progresses.

For those of you that may be wondering what the mute/unmute issue is, I’ll explain. When you receive a call the other party is unable to hear you, thus having to press mute/unmute. If you do it just as you answer a call then no one but you knows it happened at all.

Being a Vibrant user myself and using the nightly’s as they were released, I can still vouch for the awesomeness that is CM7. Maybe it was just the screen on/off animations that I wanted more then anything. I personally use it as a daily driver and will be more then happy to answer any questions you have about it. If I know the answer of course.

If you want to go a head and give this a shot head on over to XDA or CyanogenMOD forums for a complete list of instructions and the download link as well.
