These days, there is no such thing as a “cable” company and a “telephone” company anymore. Telephone companies sell TV service, and cable companies sell telephone service now. So even though Comcast and Time Warner compete with Verizon in that market, both the cable giants will be selling Verizon mobile hardware in the next year.
Comcast will be starting this early next year and it is still unknown when Time Warner will begin selling these products, but I am sure it will be soon after Comcast begins. Basically what this means for the customer is that you will now be able to bundle your TV, internet, telephone, and mobile phone all on one bill. Being an employee of Time Warner, I have been hearing this bundle plan for quite a while, and was always wondering when it was going to happen. Both cable companies have always relied on Sprint’s Nextel service and Clearwires data products. This should make me a little shocked that instead of going with Sprint products they have decided to go with Verizon, but dealing with the Nextel and the mobile data service on a daily basis, I can say it flippin’ SUCKS. A lot of dead zones in the area I work in, and the mobile internet is not nearly as fast as it should be. With Verizon’s LTE service reaching unimaginable speeds, this is actually a smart move for the cable companies, even though Verizon is their competitor.
So this will satisfy a lot of Comcast and TWC customers, because they will be able to bundle all their services onto one bill and have pretty awesome mobile service for phones and hotspot. Either that or this Verizon’s diabolical plan to take over all communications and take over the world. Maybe we should rename Verizon to SKYNET.
