Since the day before the Big Android BBQ 2010, the Android Community has been aflame over one of the simplest, most amazing accessories to any Android fan’s wardrobe. I’m talking about the Android Beanies. If you haven’t seen one, you live under the biggest rock ever, and I demand you have me over for dinner. The Beanies, made by Rachel (@yingmama) and Xiwei (@voiceofid), are a huge hit. They are super comfortable, look perfectly nerdy, and are inexpensive. They are also, however, next to impossible to get a hold of. Every time the guys at AndroidSWAG get a few of them in stock, they sell out that day. So while I was not surprised to see one being auctioned on eBay, I was  completely amazed when I saw WHY. Check out @androidbeanies for boobies eBay auction.
The concept is super simple, and not all that different from what was done at the Big Android BBQ. A “@kmobs pink” beanie has been autographed by @kmobs of Team Douche, and placed with a care package containing a pair of pink sunglasses and earbuds, and is being auctioned with the promise that 100% of the auction will go to the folks at Susan G Komen for the Cure. The idea was cool enough the first day, but by the end of day two it had jumped to over $400, and is currently sitting at $405. This is an explosive response that has generated more than was collected for either of the beanies that were auctioned at the BBQ. The auction is still open for another five days, and now there is an added link that allows you to donate should you be unable to compete with $400 but still want to participate. Get over to eBay and bid!
[Update] As a consequence of the auction breaching $400, both @Kmobs and Myself will be giving  away different DyzPlastic Andy’s to the winner!
