[Concept] Google Talk Widget, Why did Google Drop the Ball on this One?

I know you have all thought about it, I know you have all wanted one, but where the heck is it? Sadly a Google Talk widget doesn’t exist yet, that I know of. Some have said that GTalk app would need to be hacked and a new API created to deliver this type of widget option. I am certain nothing is impossible in Android, after all, they also said scrollable widgets couldn’t be done, yet we have tons of them available for ADW and Launcher PRO. I think this idea needs to be better investigated and a real explanation on why or why not this would work.

I would use it often and even pay a buck to have it. Even if a dev out there can’t make this happen, maybe we can inspire Google to update the app them selves. It needs a new look, that’s my opinion anyways. It just seems rather bland. I would like to see more options like the PC app provides. Maybe even an option for ‘Bubbles’ like the stock Samsung text app. Something, it just seems like that app hasn’t seen much attention from Google other than adding video support.

If you know of any app that does provide a Google talk widget, please share it in the comments. I haven’t been able to find one. Also, leave a comment about the concept and even a complaint to Google about the need for an update to the Talk app.
