Cyanogen ports Android 2.1 ROM in G1 and MyTouch 3G

Even though HTC will likely pass on launching Android 2.1 for their first Android handsets,  G1 and MyTouch 3G, it’s good to know the Android community devs come through. Cyanogen in particular has been working to bring the ROM to the older devices.  The version will be CyanogenMod 5.0.7 and it will be released any time now, as soon as a few last bugs are worked out. In the meantime, you can see a video of T-Mobile G1 running the new ROM below. The dev himself tweeted that it’s almost ready to go and just needs G1-friendly bite size packaging. So it means that it’s going to be a good moment for G1 and MyTouch users. We’ll keep you updated . Stay tuned with us.
