Just a few days ago, we gave you an early look at the CyanogeMod 9 launcher app, Trebuchet. Now, it looks like details are starting to trickle in about the Music Player app the team has been working on, and it’s just as sexy as we all had imagined, if not more. Unfortunately, it’s not available for download just yet, but that won’t stop us from telling you all about it.
According to developer, Andrew Neal, the CyanogenMod team has their sights set on wowing the entire world with this one — there are more customization options than you can shake a stick at, and the UI looks absolutely incredible from the image above.
Neal shared that the stock Music app will come toting fully customizable controls that will work universally on your phone. This means they will work from anywhere on your phone — the music screen, home screen, or even with the screen turned off. The app will also feature theming abilities, allowing users to take total control of the application’s visual appeal. Throw in custom notification area controls, and we just might be looking at an app powerful enough to compete with PowerAmp 2.0.
For those anxious to give this music player a try, it looks like you’re going to have to wait just a bit. It’s said that it will be included in upcoming CM9 nightlies (once they start hitting the web), and the developer said that he plans on releasing a version to the Android Market for those who want the app without having to hack away at their phones.
We’ll keep our eye out for an .APK — as soon as we get a link, you’ll be the first to know. Until then, you’re just going to have to look at the picture and drool.
