The announcement of the HTC One M9 was met with hit and miss responses. Some were upset that HTC didn’t make any major physical changes to the devices, while others were pleased about the pumps to internal specs. In a world where spec sheet numbers are king, it did seem like HTC was holding back on the One M9 by not ramping things up. However, a new set of details about another impending HTC device could get some long time HTC supports something to look forward too.
A currently unannounced device, the HTC One E9, has surfaced through TENAA, which is the equivalent of the FCC here in the states. The details list out a 5.5-inch 2660 x 1440 display, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, micro SD card slot and a 20 MP rear camera. The processor is set at 2 GHz, but it is being reported that it will be an octa-core processor from MediaTek. There are talks that there will be two variants of the device, one with the ultra pixel front shooter camera like the One M9 and one with a 13MP selfie cam. I assume the device will sport the plastic body similar to what the One E8 offered and probably land for about half the full retail price tag too.
Even with a MediaTek processor, I would be more apt to pick up the One E9Â than the One M9 myself. Sprint brought the One E8 to consumers last year, I wonder if they will also bring this one too.
