Yesterday, we saw the teaser of the Droid X. It’s a 16 second video, but the video is hiding a lot of secrets. Like yesterday, we figured out that there is a secret Droid X Twitter account hiding at the start of the video known as @DroidLanding. Today we have another story, you may have seen in the end of the video, the release month is mentioned (o7.2010). If you concentrate a little more and watch the video in slow motion, then you will be able to see the release date too. In the end, when it starts flicking, it mentions a release date of 07.02.2010. Is it true that Verizon is launching this device on Friday July 2nd?, and if you people remember, Verizon also launched the original Droid on Friday, so it seems true to me. Verizon and Moto are very smart. This is going to be Moto and Verizon’s biggest launch ever.
The Motorola Droid X is a huge device, and a very big challenge to the iPhone 4 and the EVO 4G. In size, Droid X is little taller than the EVO 4G but narrower. I am sure that this device is running a 1Ghz processor, because Verizon doesn’t want their flagship device to run an old slow processor. The device also packs some great features like stunning 8-megapixel camera with HD recording, HDMI output, 4.3″ WVGA Screen, WiFi, Bluetooth, and GPS.
The folks over at AlienBabel got their hands on some shots taken by the Droid X. They are claiming that the device is carrying Android 2.1 after checking the EXIF data, not Android 2.2. You can see the images below, which shows the result of the Droid X camera is amazing (that shots are better than my Nikon Coolpix).
When we talk about the price of the Droid X, only one thing comes to mind: If Verizon wants to compete with the iPhone 4 and EVO 4G, then the price tag would be between $150-200. Because both iPhone 4 and EVO 4G are offering the same price with a 2 year agreement. Tomorrow is the Verizon press event, so guys expect some good toys from Verizon and Motorola.
