Accessories for the Motorola DROID XYBoard have begun showing up in Verizon retail stores, hinting towards a release date in the next two weeks. Why on Earth they couldn’t just name the tablet the XOOM 2 is beyond me, but the silly-named device is sure to add fire to the ongoing tablet wars.
Word has it there will be two different variants of the tablet – 8.2″ and 10″ versions that should arrive sometime before Christmas. The 8.2″ XYBoard will more than likely come in 16GB and 32GB models priced at $429 and $529 on 2-year contract. The bigger 10″ version will have 16GB, 32GB and 64GB models available for $529, $629, and $729 on contract.
Does the XYBoard sound like a keeper to you, or do you have your eyes set on another awesome device like the ASUS Transformer Prime or the Amazon Kindle Fire? We’ll keep our eye out for anything solid on a launch date. Stay tuned.
