Dropbox updates with ‘Custom-tailored video streaming for ICS Users’ and Korean Support

There are a lot of cloud storage services out there. Some are better than others and some offer features that particularly useful to many. While we all love GDrive, SugarSync, HiDrive, Box and all the others around, Dropbox is still one or personal favorites. With so many ways to earn more storage, desktop client, no file size limit and a fairly user friendly UI, We just can’t seem to pull our selves away from it.

Today we have some pretty awesome news about Dropbox. The app was just updated to offer something that I have personally been wanting in a cloud storage system, the ability to stream videos. This might not seem like a huge thing to some, but after uploading a video that took forever to get into the cloud, being able to stream it rather than download the entire file is pretty great. I gave it a test on a few video files I currently have stored and it worked just fine. Ultimately a Wi-Fi connection might be recommended so you don’t blow up your data limits, but that is a minor detail.

The update also provided language support for the Korean speaking individuals out there.

The streaming capability is only available to those of you running Ice Cream Sandwich. Be it a custom ROM or a stock device, you should have no issues. Imaging how awesome this is going to be when you get your new Samsung Galaxy S III and that 50GB of free storage. Hit up the Play Store for your update, or click/scan the handy little QR code below. Enjoy!
