EA talks Need for Speed: Rivals, cross platform racing done Differently

Need for Speed Rivals EA
EA held a E3 press event today, among many others of course, to show off some of what is to come from Electronics Arts this year. They had a pretty good looking set of games on the way. One of the titles that is headed out is the next in the franchise of Need for Speed. The new release will be called Rivals and is set to make cross platform racing take on a whole new meaning.

This go round you won’t be grabbing you Android tablet and be able to do any actual racing. That shouldn’t detour you from getting involved though. You will be able to get in on the action help call in air support and request additional units to help the cops catch the crazy drivers that are your rivals. It sounds like a fun and interesting way to keep you in the game and on the action when you might not be able to sit down and play.

Need for Speed Rivals will still focus on your traditional multiplayer gaming, but thanks to the new AllDrive multiplayer technology, they are able to connect more people in more ways with more devices.

Hopefully when our guys meet up with EA this week they will dig in a bit deeper and see what it is all about. Until then, check out the sick trailer for Need for Speed: Rivals that is due out November 19th.
