Facebook Officially Releases SDK For Android

Until today, developers have been building their own app using the iPhone SDK and as many of you are aware that some of the Facebook apps are getting bad reviews in the market because of UI issues, Force Closes, etc… Hopefully now that Facebook has officially released the SDK for Android we should see a lot smoother application as well as higher ratings. The official Facebook for Android app ran into a world a problems where Verizon issued a statement asking users to use their browser “for now.” Click here to download the SDK file.

Could this be ex-Android Team member Erick Tseng‘s first agenda as he has recently joined Facebook team? We found out at Google I/O demoed last week, that the Android SDK will bring advanced functionality to Android developers over what is currently available for the iPhone, including access to Facebook’s recently announced Graph API. Users will be protected with the strong authorization of OAuth 2.0, and will be able to publish stories from apps directly to their News Feed using Feed forms.
