Falcon Pro jumps price tag to $132 to keep new users away, all thanks to Twitter

Falcon Pro for Twitter
Three days ago we broke the story that Falcon Pro for Twitter had reached its 100k token limit set by Twitter. In a nut shell that meant that any new Falcon Pro users who picked up the app wouldn’t be able to use it. Needless to say it has not been well received by Falcon Pro users or would be users in the slightest. With the token limit met, developer Joaquim Vergès had to do something.

He set up a petition for people to sign in hopes that we can get Twitter to lift the token limit, or at least raise it to a higher level. While we wait and hope that Twitter changes their mind and does something to allow great apps like Falcon Pro carry more users, Joaquim went one step further to protect his would be users. He has recently changed the price tag of the app to an absurd $132.13. Not because only the exclusive people of the world should have what ever tokens get released by users not using it anymore, but because he doesn’t want to upset would be users. After all, if you picked up the app after the token limit was reached, the app wouldn’t work for you. Not Joaquim’s fault, but he would prefer people didn’t make the token limit from Twitter a reason to leave low star ratings and trash on his work. The app is really great and beautiful. He also makes it painfully clear in apps description on the Play Store –

** ATTENTION PLEASE READ THIS **

** TOKEN LIMIT REACHED – DO NOT BUY – WORKS ONLY FOR ONLY FOR EXISTING USERS **

** THE APP WILL NOT ACCEPT NEW USERS BECAUSE OF TWITTER LIMITATIONS (100k tokens max) **

Help me Extend the access token limit by signing this petition :http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/extend-falcon-pro

And Please RELEASE your access token from the Twitter settings on the web if you’re not using the app anymore.

As Joaquim asks in the last line of his message, please release your token from Twitter if you aren’t using FalconPro anymore. Especially those some 60,000 people out there that snagged the app illegally and didn’t buy it through the Play Store.

We definitely support Joaquim in his efforts to help increase the token limit that is imposed by Twitter. We understand why Twitter wants to have a limit, and that is fine, but it really hurts developers and stifles competition. There are plenty of great devs out there that flat-out refuse to put their talents to use for a Twitter client for this very reason. Hopefully everyone, and I mean even Windows users, Blackberry users and every user out there regardless of their device, love or hatred for Twitter will sign the petition. After all, it does affect more than just Android users. So go sign the petition if you have a free second - http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/extend-falcon-pro
