First batch of Nexus 7 pre-orders to start shipping Next Week

There was quite a scare going on for a little while when it came to the Google Nexus 7 pre-orders. When people caught wind that Office Depot was suspected to have them in stores today, it defeated all pre-ordering purposes. Luckily, that was dismissed quickly and nothing is currently available in retail locations, that we know of. Now we have a little bit of information dug out by TalkAndroid that involves a conversation with Aria226 and a Google support tech.

“Google and UPS are way over-capacity with shipping and can only move an estimated 10,000 units a day initially. They are organizing the shipments by doing it in batches.”

That should come as no surprise really. It was a highly anticipate device and we have no doubts that they are flooded with orders. Aria226, who was having this conversation with tech support, was keyed into a few other bits of information. Primarily when the orders would start to ship out. Those are as follows;

  • June 27th-29th pre-orders will get their Nexus 7 first. That means, and I was specifically told, either at the end of this week or most likely at the beginning of next week.
  • June 30th-July2nd pre-orders will get the Nexus 7 mid-week next week.
  • Everything after that, the technician didn’t really know, and didn’t want to guess.
Hopefully that gives many of you a sense of shipping and delivery dates for your orders. We will keep our eyes peeled for reports of delivery or any other confirmation of shipments rolling out.
