First round of Xperia ICS updates hit Scandinavian Countries

The world is constantly sitting on pins and needles. Idly staring at their device, wish, waiting wanting an update to appear. Others have added the ‘check for updates’ via their device settings to their morning routines. It never hurts to try does it? Today is like any other day in the wait for Ice Cream Sandwich, with the exception that a handful of Sony Xperia devices are able to be updated. Unfortunately it isn’t the normal OTA that many of us keep an eye out for. Rather, you will need to connect your device to your PC or Mac in order to pick it up.

The devices able available for update are the Xperia Arc S, Xperia Neo V and Xperia Ray, but only if you live in Sweden, Denmark, Iceland, Finland and Norway. Lucky you!!

If you fall into one of those categories, then you will want to hit up the Sony Mobile Blog. There you will find all the links to the associated pages for download and information. They make special note that not all the software kits are live and you may need to check back a little later. As for the rest of the world, keep your eyes peeled. Updates for other locales should start to appear over the next month or so.

Happy updating and let us know what you think after the excitement dies down a bit.
