The company is offering $200 or more to those who test out the system and order a device. They will need to provide feedback on the process and the device itself. Some people can get an additional $250 in incentives if they do an interview with Motorola.
Obviously the system doesn’t do everyone a ton of good unless you are getting an AT&T version of the device. If you have a friend or family member inside Motorola and are with AT&T, be sure to hit them up. The program is short and a limited-time offer only. In the long-term though, you get $100 off at checkout and a further $100 for feedback (within two days). Essentially you can get the 16 GB version of the device free.
“The goal is to do some real-world, end-to-end testing of the Moto Maker configurator to make sure it’s rock solid for launch,†said Motorola spokesman William Moss. “It’s obviously an important part of the Moto X experience, and we want to ensure that it’s working absolutely smoothly.â€
I know if I had a friend, and at least $100 upfront, I would pick one up, even though I am with T-Mobile. So, anyone out there getting on the horn with this?
