Galaxy S Root Method Works On U.S. Variants

Three weeks ago, we learned that the Samsung Galaxy S has been rooted. With the U.S. variants making their way to their respected carriers soon, the question has been asked. Will the same root method work for all Galaxy S devices?

Yes. Thanks again to the community over at XDA, with some minor tweaking, this method has worked on the AT&T Samsung Captivate and the T-Mobile Samsung Vibrant. Hopefully, the community can root Sprint’s Epic 4G and Verizon’s Fascinate before their official launch. Developer MoDaCo has a custom ROM for the Galaxy S floating around and with the root access being so easy, I think it is safe to say we’ll see a lot more custom work in the near future.
