samsung-event-london

The event in London has commenced, and the products we have been hearing about as of late, are all now official. The Galaxy S4 Active, Zoom, NX, and Mini have now been added to the Galaxy family, so which one are you planning to get?

First, we have new colors for the Galaxy S4. Blue, purple, red, brown, and pink, have been added to the mix, so pick your poison.

The Galaxy S4 Active showed us that you can now take pictures in a small tank of water.  This mode is called Aqua Mode. The Active has a IP67 rating, and can survive in a meter of water for up to 30 minutes. They mentioned that not only is it water and dust proof, but it is glove friendly too, for those times you are up in the mountains and you need to update your status. Specs include, 1.9GHz quad core Snapdragon 600, 2GB of RAM, 2,600 mAh battery, and a TFT 1080p display instead of the Super AMOLED panel.

The Galaxy S4 Zoom was shown off briefly. They showed us a commercial of inspired photographers in different scenarios, and taglined it, “talk & shoot”. The Zoom is the first “smartphone” to have a 10x optical zoom, and it is fitted with a 16 MP sensor.

The Galaxy S4 Mini, is everything you can really expect from the regular S4, just in a smaller size. The Mini sports a 4.3-inch qHD Super AMOLED display, a 1.7GHz dual core processor, 2GB of RAM, and an 8MP camera.

Now probably the sexiest product that was shown off today, has got to be the Galaxy NX. The Nx will be the first interchangeable lens camera that is LTE compatible. This camera will be rocking a 20.3MP APS-C sensor, and a 1.6GHz quad core application processor with Android 4.2.2 running the system. The display is a comfortable 4.8″ HD TFT LCD display, so the die hard photographers should get some joy out of this camera. There will be over 30 smart modes to choose from when capturing life as it happens, and no price was announced quite yet.
