Looks like the plastic jokes might come to an end, according to a new report. ETNews claims that Samsung will be working in a metal chassis for the Galaxy S5, stepping away from the cheap feel of plastic. Makes a lot of sense, since the HTC One has gotten so much praise for its metal design. Production of the Galaxy S5’s design will begin this year, if it has not already. Samsung wants to make sure the metal design will not interfere with the cell reception of the phone, similar to the “antennagate” the iPhone suffered a couple years ago.
There has not been any official word from Samsung on this information, they very well might just stick with cheaper materials to keep their pockets full. It would be smart to move to metal, simply to win back the recognition that HTC has gotten as of late. Let us know your thoughts about this.
