Well this comes as a shock. We all knew a WiFi-only version was coming but we never knew when. I had hoped by the holidays, but it looks like that won’t happen after all. In a document at BestBuy we can see the Wifi Only Tab won’t be available till after the new year. That leaves everyone with only carrier based Tabs for the holidays.
I also learned that Verizon is going to require a month-to-month data plan at time of purchase to even buy one. The good news, though, is that it is not contracted so you should be able to cancel the plan from the parking lot if you wish. That of course may change at any point and might have some fee associated, so be sure to ask.
Is anyone else a little bummed out about this news?
