[Game] Killer Bean Unleashed; 2D side scrolling shooter with a Kick

Last night I decided we all needed a new game to kick back and play that wouldn’t cost us a million bucks to enjoy. That is when I came across an awesome little game from Killer Bean Studios called Killer Bean Unleashed. This is a 2D side scrolling platform shooter game centered around killing off the Shadow Agency that you once worked for as a bean assassin.

Controls are simple to use and you can even customize their location on your device’s screen for your preference. You have your typical left and right arrow keys, a jump and shoot key and a pause button. You will also find it easy to change the type of ammo you are using by tapping the ammo box at the upper left of the screen. Killer Bean Unleashed is packed with 15 levels  and three modes of play, Story Mode, Mega Levels, and Survival Mode. The Mega levels were recently added in as an update to the game that just landed on June 17th. They are approximately 5X larger than the story mode levels. Add in the various difficulty levels of your bean foes and some super intense boss fights and you have a real winning title.

As you progress through the game you earn gold coins. All based on your accuracy and number of kills. This isn’t targeted to be a run and gun shooter to race to the end of the level. You will eventually be able to unlock triple jump and nine other types of ammo to help you take down the Shadow Agency. If patience and progression aren’t your strong suit, you can purchase a $0.99 in-app Mega Pack that unlocks all the ammo choices and also removes the ads. I played through 4 levels and found it a lot of fun and I never noticed any ads, that doesn’t mean they aren’t there somewhere.

  The graphics and game play are done extremely well. It looks and plays great, even on my little old Galaxy S I device. They even took the extra time to optimize it for the Xperia Play device too. This is easily a must have game for some great shoot ’em action on the go. Just watch this quick trailer and tell us it doesn’t look awesome.
