Gameloft announces Brothers in Arms 3: Sons of War for Dec 17 release

Gameloft has just announced the release date for the upcoming third installment of the historical Brothers in Arms series, Brothers in Arms 3: Sons of War. We have known the titles name for some time and have even seen some gameplay footage and screenshots of the team based gameplay. Heck, earlier today they did a live stream of it in action on Twitch, which I missed sadly. What we didn’t have was a release date. However, it seemed likely they would have it out before the end of the year. Now we know that the new title will be hitting the Play Store December 17th.

The game will be a mix of free movement and cover gameplay that should make for a fun gaming experience. It will feature a traditional single player campaign that will offer various mission types: Assault, Siege, Sniper and stealth. They are short and intense and have been designed for quick on-the-go playing. It should keep you busy for a while as there are 8 chapters of missions to work through.

As for the brothers, well, you will have 12 total brothers to utilize. each has his own unique abilities that will be able to upgrade as you progress. A sniper will be great for the stealth missions but maybe not so great for an Assault mission. As for weapons, Gameloft lets us know that there will be 4 traditional weapon classes: SMG, Rifle, Assault and Sniper. There will also be a 5th class for experimental weapons with unusual abilities. Makes me thing of the new rail gun in BF 4.

Add in additional missions to expand your skills like RAID, Commando and Blueprint and it could turn out to be a pretty fun time killer. I have asked abut Moga support and will update this post when I get an answer. The release doesn’t mention a price tag so I am going to assume it will be a free-to-play model with IAP’s.
