Looks like after the report of GameLoft’s terrible DRM policy last week, they had a change of heart. In their initial release, it was conveyed that if you bought a game from their website it was the only time you could ever have it without paying again. This of course didn’t sit well with the community for many reasons. For example: Upgrading your phone, changing your ROM or even replacing a lost or stolen device would mean you would have to shell out the cash again to get your favorite game. This only affected direct downloads from their site. Games through the market would still be available once signed back in.
Luckily GameLoft realized how this is just not realistic and would do more harm to themselves then good. They released this statement:
“We’d like to announce you that policy regarding Android HD+ games sold through our own store is currently changed to allow you to re-download a game that you paid for. Unfortunately this change will take a bit of time but rest assured we will announce once it is live. Thank you for your patience.”
Good to hear huh? For those of you not familiar with GameLoft, they are responsible for games such as Midnight Bowling 2, Assasin’s Creed, Prince of Persia and asphalt for Android devices. Â You can visit their site HERE.
