We know that news of this Garmin-ASUS split isn’t a real shocker, especially when we learned that the Garminfone’s sales weren’t doing very well. Garmin partnered up with ASUS agreeing to a 2 year contract and it looks like these companies will start seeing other people after their 2 year contract expires coming January.
It’s pretty clear that their venture wouldn’t last as the mobile market changes so fast with new technology being spit out daily and GPS enabled smartphones that devour the need for stand alone GPS devices. Every company wants to experience success and with the ever evolving market, it looks like both Garmin and ASUS will have to rethink their strategy. Mobile applications might help them out a little, right?
