Gingerbread To Be Pushed Out To The Nexus One Dev Phone This Week?

Chalk this up under “rumor,” but according to a tweet from Alvaro Fuentes Vasquez, Gingerbread could be headed to the Google Nexus One developer’s phones this week.

Translated, that message above reads:

“Prepare your Nexus One (Developer version) for Android OTA update 2.3 (Gingerbread) for the next few days”

Although Twitter is not a legitimate source for our news, Mr. Vasquez’s LinkedIn profile sparks the validity of his Tweet. His profile states:

  • President of technology and Business process at Flypho Technology Inc.
  • Chief organizer to the learning center for Google products at Flyanalytics
  • Leadership team and usability at Open Handset Aliance | Google Andoid

Keep in mind, just because someone’s LinkedIn profile says something doesn’t mean that is fact, but it does spark our interest. If this is true, do as the man says and prep your Nexus One! Do you think Google would roll out Gingerbread without some sort of press event?
