Google acquired Waze back in June, presumably to add some of Waze’s key traffic features to Maps. And today the first round of updates were added to both Maps and Waze for Android.
On Maps, you will now be able to view real-time incidents, as reported by Waze users. The updates appear on Google Maps app for Android and iOS in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, France, Germany, Mexico, Panama, Peru, Switzerland, UK and the US.
For the Waze update, some Google features were added to the community traffic and navigation app.
Waze added Google Search to its iOS and Android apps, joining search providers like Yelp and Foursquare. The Waze Map Editor incorporates Street View and satellite imagery, in the hopes to correct errors reported by the community.
You can find out more about each of the app updates on the Waze and Google Maps blogs.
