It was only a matter of time before Google and Motorola were going to start dishing out some devices together. After the Google/Motorola merger, it was imminent that we were going to see some kind of Moto Android flagship phone and/or tablet. I think a lot of us did not really care to see these devices, but Motorola has come a long way with the added features they have put in their Razr line.
Dennis Woodside, new Motorola Mobility CEO, told Wall Street Journal that Motorola is investing in a new team, as well as a new technology, that will take a different approach to mobile platform. Even though Motorola has seen better days, and was currently sinking into the market quick sands,  they found a shareholder in Google that will give them the resources they need. Google CEO Larry Page reported that the Moto team was instructed to “think big’, and come up with innovations that could sky-rocket Motorola to make them a strong competitor for Samsung.
While details are sketchy, Motorola has said that they plan on bringing vast improvements to the camera and photo software. There also has been talks of them using bendable screen and materials such as ceramics, for these new devices. Makes sense, since Samsung has been long attached to flexible LEDs, so why not up the ante themselves. A technology called “Viewdle” has been tossed around to be attached to these new devices. If you do not know what Viewdle is, it simply uses enhanced camera technology for gestures and facial recognition. Check out the video below if you still are wondering what is exactly.
So even though I was never looking forward to Google/Motorola flagship devices, it seems that they got a few tricks up their sleeves. Let us know what you guys think about this.
