Google+ app updates, adds a few new features including on Air Hangout joining from Mobile

What started out as a fairly ordinary day here in the Android world, has slowly started to get better and better. Google has just released an app update for Google+ that adds in few new great features and a couple… well… interesting ones. The latest update will move your Google+ app to version 3.1.1, depending on device of course. The most important addition in the update in our opinion is the ability to finally join Hangouts on Air via your mobile device. That is pretty great news especially for those of you that check out weekly on Air hangouts from various websites and groups.

This latest version will also allow teens to create and join Hangouts on the go. We didn’t know they couldn’t before, but for teens this is good news. For parents with teens, this could be a nightmare though. As if sexting and elicit picture messages weren’t bad enough already, now they can do a mobile Hangout. On the flipside though, if you have a responsible teen, it will be nice to hit them up in a Hangout and chat and be able to see where they are at easily. It could go either way.

Beyond those two primary functions you will also find Shortcuts for post creation, floating timestamp in photos view and the ability to report abuse in events.

As always, you can head to your ‘My Apps’ section of the Play Store to snag the update or simply click/scan the QR code below to pick it up.
