Google debuts YouTube Music, the Music Video only variant of YouTube

Google has released another new app into the wild today, YouTube Music. Much like Google did with YouTube Gaming, YouTube Music is all about the tunes and videos to back them up. Think, MTV when it was cool, but on your phone or tablet whenever you want it. In simplest form YouTube Music is a skinned version of YouTube that is designed to deliver you the music you love by way of music videos. Tap on an artist, track or album and YouTube Music will pick up from there continually playing similar music.

YouTube Music is tied in with YouTube Red which is the monthly subscription to knock out ads, offline listening, audio only mode and other goodies. If you don’t have a YouTube Red subscription you will be given a free 14 day trial when you first launch the new YouTube Music app. However, you don’t NEED the subscription to enjoy the app or service, you just won’t get the extra perks like listening with the app minimized or ad-free listening.

If you want to give it a whirl, hit the link below to pick it up. As with any new app, expect some things to change soon in future updates. Seems comments on the Play Store are already digging in and giving Google an ear full over orientation and controls not vanishing.
